Sennheiser is working in tandem with Samsung to introduce 3D audio earbuds to the Android platform.

3D audio is also known as binaural audio. It is about recording sound in as much a natural manner as your ears may hear in in its originality. Mostly this involves employing big recording rigs which resemble a human skull in their structure and function.

Yet the institution that is Sennheiser wants to use a more basic process. Earlier in 2017, Sennheiser revealed its Ambeo Smart Surround earbuds. These have imbedded microphones which can record 3D audio.

This was an iPhone-only device. Yet now Sennheiser wants to bring the facility to Android too. The CEO of Sennheiser, Andreas Sennheiser, announced the new decision. He spoke of how his company was working closely with Samsung on this device.

“We are working with Samsung on the AMBEO smart headset to make it available for Android devices,” Sennheiser told The Korea Herald. “Because a dominant layer of the smartphone market is Android-based phones.”

To bring the gadget on the Google mobile OS was the ultimate goal. Sennheiser’s products will come to Android but with a bit of elbow grease and some facilitation.

The partnership with Samsung just may benefit both parties in the end. South Korea, the provenance of Samsung, is a leading high tech nation. As for Samsung, it is a dominant phone maker.

There is much that remains under wraps at present. Samsung and Sennheiser are working on their plans in an integrated and intelligent manner. They will hopefully succeed.

It is just a matter of time before this facility arrives on Android. Once Senheisser has made a name for itself in the marketplace, it may permanently settle for working in tandem with Samsung.

Sennheiser meanwhile is a German company unlike Samsung which is a South Korean conglomerate. Its experience in immersive audio technology is something altogether new. It will revolutionize the way we think of listening to music or any recorded sounds.

Such a scheme is also ideal for the Asia Pacific region. To see business growth in this area proves that the center of focus for what is happening has shifted from Europe and America to Asia and the Far East instead.
