The company has launched its first new EV

Borgward is a revived German car brand. It was almost nonexistence in the market from a long time. But now a Chinese state owned automaker BAIC is backing Borgward.

The company announced its first new model in 50 years in 2015 at Frankfurt auto show. The model that was introduced in the show was a mid-sized SUV named BX7.

The model was produced and sold from the start of year 2016. The BX7 was sold in China and was built over there too. It saw pretty successful sales and the company managed to sale almost 30,000 unites in the first 8 months after its launch.

The company started the sale of a second model in China a month ago. The second model is also built in China and is actually a compact SUV. It is called BX5. The company has also planned a new vehicle which will be the coupe like version of BX5. It will be called the BX6.

Along with that Borgward has also announced that a new EV will be making its way by the brand as well. According to MotorAuthority, Borgward's new ev will be built in Breman, Germany where the company has a historical construction plant where initially all cars were built.

The electric car that was just announced by the company will be an electronic version of its famous BX7. It will be called the BXi7. The car was revealed for the very first time in 2017 Shanghai Auto Show.

It features a number of revised characteristics and digital instrument cluster. We are sure of one fact that it will use power batteries from LG Chem. The company also supplied batteries to GM and VW. It is being said that production will start in year 2018 for the electric model and it might get an early launch in year 2019.
