Sling TV Cloud DVR Lands on Apple TV

Cloud DVR costs another $5 monthly

Apple TV users have a new feature they can check out that is something Sling TV fans will be familiar with. The Cloud DVR functionality from Sling TV has landed on the Apple TV for an additional $5 monthly. The $5 fee gets you 50 hours of cloud DVR storage and the content you store there remains on the DVR indefinitely.

With cloud DVR you get many of the features that you are already familiar with form normal DVRs such as pause, rewind, and fast forward capability for the shows and movies you watch. Most of the content available on Sling TV can be saved to the Cloud DVR including TV, sports, and movies.

Some of the channels that Sling TV offers can't be used with DVR functionality including Disney, Fox, and ESPN. Features of the Cloud DVR service are as follows:

Watch anytime, anywhere- Record your favorite programs and watch whenever you want across all Amazon Fire TVs and Fire tablets, Android mobile devices, Android TVs, Apple TVs, Roku streaming players and Roku TVs. AirTV Player is not currently compatible with Cloud DVR.

Conflict-free recording- Record multiple programs simultaneously, and forget about recording conflicts. Keep recordings as long as you want- With Sling TV, your recordings won't expire as long as you remain a Sling TV subscriber with Cloud DVR.

Auto-managed recordings- Sling TV will make room for new recordings by deleting your old recordings as you reach capacity, starting with your oldest 'watched' recording, so you can binge on your new favorite show.

Enabling Cloud DVR is as easy as signing nto the Sling TV account on the Sling website and selecting the Add Cloud VR option. The service will work on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon, and Android devices. Sling TV offers over 30 channels for $20 monthly for the basic package and $40 monthly or a package with 50 channels.
