Waymo launches its first public on demand self-driving car testing in Arizona

Waymo is one of the leading companies that are working on autonomous driving. The company was offering membership to the public in order to get free rides on their autonomous cars which are being tested these days.

People were invited to be on the self-driving fleet that was offered for two months in Arizona for a limited trail. The Alphabet-owned company Waymo has made sure that its Fiat-Chrysler Pacific minivans that are being tested for autonomous driving provide free rides to the general public as well.

The company has included a number of people tough small in number to be included as testes of this autonomous trail’s hardware and software testing.

Now this trail has expanded beyond a small number of people. Today, the CEO of Waymo just announced the acceptance of applications from people who will be interested to get a free drive of this test ride.

The application can be submitted by anyone who lives in Phoenix. Waymo also released a video with the announcement. It shows a family sitting safely and happily in a test vehicle. This shows that Waymo’s test vehicles have actually started helping others as well and are actually providing a practical service to them.

The video which was released by Waymo also showed another important thing. The family is shown to prefer the vehicle due to many reasons instead of totally depending upon the vehicle.

Waymo has already announced that it will be including 500 Hybrid vehicles in the program. It will give a leverage to the self-driving fleet of the company. It will also provide a sense of confidence in successfully completing a huge amount of miles through the test cars. Waymo already has a decade of self-driving experience up till now.
