Rumor Suggests Only the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are Coming

Only two models are coming says new rumor

The rumors that have been swirling over the last several months about the coming iPhone models have claimed almost unanimously that there will be three new iPhones that land. These rumors have predicted two refreshed iPhone 7 models along with one high-end device that has been dubbed the iPhone 8.

A new rumor has been circulating and according to Tom's Guide, this rumor claims only two models of iPhone will be launched. These models are dubbed the iPhone 8 and a larger iPhone 8 Plus according to the rumor. Both of these devices, according to the rumor, are supposed to have dual rear cameras out back.

With the current iPhone models, only the iPhone 7 Plus has the dual camera arrangement. There is a bit of concern about the Chinese source of the rumor and adding further scepticism about the validity of the rumor is the fact that an OLED shortage would seemingly make it impossible for Apple to source enough OLED screens to support two models using the technology.

The rumor source claims that Foxconn has orders for two new iPhone devices, not three. This is the only rumor so far to claim that only two new iPhone models will be landing. The rub if this rumor is true will be the fact that the iPhone 8 has long been rumored to be the most expensive device yet with some rumors suggesting the phone will start at around $1,000. If there are no cheaper iPhones, consumers wanting a new Apple device will be forced to buy the expensive models.
