GameStop restocks the $299.99 Nintendo Switch.

The launch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on April 28 is also bringing a new wave of Nintendo Switch inventory. We have compiled a list of stores that is offering the Nintendo Switch this week and especially on Friday. Now Switch hunters can also add again GameStop to the stores to check for Nintendo Switch stock.

The Video game retailer advertises the $299.99 Nintendo Switch consoles on the cover of the new weekly ad valid from today until May 2. The small print on the Switch placement says to check with store associates about availability of the Nintendo Switch. GameStop features the Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy-Con and the Nintendo Switch with Neon Joy-Con in the weekly ad.

The Nintendo Switch stock tracker iStockNow has flagged today over 1,400 GameStop stores to have the Switch in stock. This is about one third of all 4,400 GameStop store locations across the United States. GameStop has now the highest number of stores reported to have Nintendo Switch inventory. Target and Walmart have about 1,000 each.

Hunting down a Switch just got easier, but not trivial. There are just still too many people in the market for the Switch, plus the scalpers. The reseller prices are $100 and more above the regular price.

GameStop offered the Nintendo Switch only as part of $500 bundles in the past weeks. Demand is so hot that even these bundles eventually sold out.

The list of stores that will have the Nintendo Switch in stock on Friday includes besides GameStop now ToysRUs, Best Buy, Target, and the Nintendo Store. We expect that more stores will announce to restock the Nintendo Switch for the Mario Kart 8 launch.

The Nintendo Switch continues to be a hard to find item. The supply has slowed down in past days, but gets a big push this week. Note that Amazon Prime members can still save 20% on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch.

The new Nintendo Switch launched on March 3 and as expected, it sold out on launch day. Nintendo's comments that there would be enough Switch consoles in March to satisfy demand turned out to be untrue. Nintendo now plans to double the production of the Nintendo Switch. The company plans to make 16 million Switch consoles starting April 1 until March 2018. The original plan was to produce 8 million Switch consoles.

It might take Nintendo until Fall to make enough Switch consoles to satisfy demand. The Nintendo Switch will be one of the most popular Holiday gifts for the Holiday shopping season 2017. Sony and Microsoft will have a hard time to battle the Switch in Holiday sales.

The Nintendo Switch is a completely new video game concept. It's a mobile console first with removable small controllers. The mobile unit with display rests in a Nintendo Switch console connected to your TV.

The mobile unit slides inside the Switch docking station, where it also gets charged. The small controllers that are detachable from the mobile unit also slide onto a home controller.

The Nintendo Switch games sell for $59.99 like the games for the PS4 and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch game line-up includes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo killed region locking on the Nintendo Switch. Any game sold in any region is playable on the Nintendo Switch.

The system includes the main console, Joy-Con (L) and Joy-Con (R) controllers, a Joy-Con grip (to which two Joy-Con are attached and used as one controller), a set of Joy-Con wrist straps, a Nintendo Switch dock (which holds the main console and connects it to a TV), an HDMI cable and an AC adapter. Two versions of the system are available: a version with a set of gray Joy-Con, and a version with one neon blue and one neon red Joy-Con.
