Here are the seven real life celebrity heroes we were reminded of after hearing Tom Hardy’s real life heroic stint

We have seen them perform some awesome stunts on-screen that we often think of them as superheroes or at least action heroes. They remind us again and again that most of their stunts are controlled or performed by stunt artists. However, in real life, there are some moments where the celebrities have become real life heroes. Tom Hardy just recently chased down a runaway moped thief across a park and buildings and apprehended him until the police came on the scene. His heroics left onlookers and witnesses in awe who compared him to an action hero in real life. Hardy’s heroism reminded us of the heroism of other celebrities as well,

1. Vin Diesel

One such star who showed his real life hero side is the man of action, Vin Diesel. Known for his tough demeanor and muscular build, this incident happened in Hollywood. Diesel was riding his motorcycle when he noticed a car lose control on the road, swerved and crashed. It burst into flames shortly after impact. Diesel discarded his bike and rushed to pull out the two children in the back of the car. He also helped the driver to climb over the back street and get out of the car before it went up in flames. The actor was able to save those people from burning.

2. Steve Buscemi

Talk about a real-time hero, the sometimes odd yet accomplished actor Steve Buscemi who is known for his role in Broadwalk Empire is a fully trained firefighter. He covers various shifts at the fire station and did regular firefighter work to rescue the victims of World Trade Centre collapse and Hurricane Sandy, taking a break from acting.

3. Kate Winslet

Most people will not be expecting a female celebrity in this list but Kate Winslet proved that she is a real-life hero. In 2011, she and her children were staying at Richard Branson's estate in 2011 over the holidays with 35 other guests. One night the estate was struck by lightning and a fire broke out. After making sure that her children were out of the house safely, Kate rushed back and carried out Branson’s 90-year-old mother who was staying in one of the back rooms.

4. Tom Cruise

When you’re looking for a Samaritan, anyone rarely expects Tom Cruise to show up but he did for a woman who had become a victim of a hit and run. He was the one to aid her on-scene and call 911. He then waited with her until help arrived and upon learning that she had no insurance, he paid her hospital bill worth $7,000. Later that year, he and his then wife Nicole Kidman also rescued five people from a burning ship while vacationing in Capri.

5. Arnold Schwarzenegger

One of the world’s best action heroes turned into a real-life hero for a drowning man. Reportedly, Arnold spotted the man as he struggled in the water and swam to his aid. The man said that he was unable to reach the sure because of a cramp. Arnold helped him on a boogie board and swam him to the shore. He also remained with him until the man had revived.

6. Garth Brooks

The country star was driving along with a friend when they both noticed a fire erupting in the grass nearby a house. They stopped their car and rushed to the house to get two boys in the house out before it erupted into flames.

7. T.I.

The rapper was approached by his friend Radio DJ Ryan Cameron to help a man in Atlanta who was going to jump off a ledge to commit suicide. T.I. recorded a video in which he gave a message to the man and convinced him to not commit suicide. He never took the credit for the save.

These actors and real life heroes inspire us to become heroes and help out our fellow men.
