Alleged iPhone 8 Case Has No Rear Fingerprint Scanner

Case leaks have historically been quite accurate at showing what future iPhones will look like

A new clear plastic third party case has turned up on the web and the leaked case claims to be for the iPhone 8 that is expected to land in the coming months. As you can see the case has a vertical camera hole, which is something that has been rumored for a long time.

The case looks like it would match up perfectly with that leaked iPhone 8 schematic we talked about yesterday. That schematic showed no rear fingerprint scanner, a vertical stacked dual camera module, and a large round coil for thought to be for wireless charging. Presumably the iPhone 8 will be able to charge through a case.

This leaked case definitely isn't for the iPhone 7S as that smartphone has a horizontal camera layout. If this is a real iPhone 8 case, it would indicate that Apple has worked out the issues that rumors suggested might lead to a rear mounted fingerprint scanner. Or at least Apple has decided to delay the launch of the iPhone 8 until it has worked out that fingerprint scanner under glass issue.

Other rumors have suggested that the iPhone 8 will have a longer power button than other models, this case appears to support that rumor. Exactly why the power button is longer we don't know. If you are wondering, leaked cases have a long history of showing what coming iPhone models will look like. In the past these case leaks have proven to be some of the most accurate leaks around.

Another Apple rumor this week claimed that there were multiple problems with the iPhone 8 ranging from issues with OLED screen production to wireless charging hardware that overheats, and some sort of unidentified problem producing the printed circuit boards that are needed. Yet another recent rumor claims that rather than three iPhone devices that had been rumored, only two would turn up. Those two devices include the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8S and the rumor started with the supply chain.
