Elon Musk’s vision is to build a network of tunnels to skip traffic

What may seem to be the most random idea of Elon Musk, is now on the verge of becoming a reality, just like Tesla and SpaceX became. It started last December when Elon Musk tweeted his frustrated thoughts on city’s traffic and that he felt like digging a tunnel himself to skip traffic.

It must have been a very brilliant idea as Elon Musk allegedly started implementing this idea into reality. The Boring Company is the new venture which will submerge Elon Musk into tunnel digging arena.

The mastermind has a concept video compiled and posted already, it shows what would this network of tunnels would look like, once spread all over the city. The concept shows that a number of platforms will be spread over the roads that are usually jammed.

These platforms will allow the car to enter them and will then lock the car. The platform then slowly de-elevate into the ground where it stops once it has reached the subterranean network of tunnels built by Elon Musk’s The Boring Company. Like in a Formula-1 race, the platforms will move slowly when they are in reserved space, slip into the high speed road that will take them to the chosen destination, and hit speeds of up to 200 km per hour.

The platform will rise up to the road-level once they arrived at the destination. Surprisingly, Musk has decided not to wait for people to realize the worth of this network of tunnels, and has allegedly started digging a demo tunnel within SpaceX perimeters.

We will surely be hearing more from Elon Musk on this new venture of his.
