NES Classic Stock Continues to Surface at These Stores in May

The Nintendo NES Classic is not sold out yet. Here is where shoppers can find it today. Updated.

The discontinued NES Classic Edition can still be found in stock on May 2nd. Officially the NES Classic is history, according to a Nintendo statement, but retailers are still getting new inventory.

Today there are over 115 Walmart stores and 77 Target stores flagged to have the NES Classic in stock as of 8:45am ET. The number of stores that have the NES Classic in stock is much lower than on the weekend. Target and Walmart have been restocking the NES Classic since mid last week. New NES Classic stock is keeps arriving on the first of May.

On BrickSeek stores are also showing the NES Classic units in stock at select stores including the Target store in Brooklyn Fulton St, showing 4 NES Classic available.

Reseller prices for the NES Classic are still around $270 as arrival of new NES Classic stock is keeping prices in check. The lowest priced Nintendo NES Classic console sells for $275 plus shipping on Prices might stay at this level and not explode. Some predict that the NES Classic could fetch $500 once the inventory is completely sold out.

The reseller prices have been over $300 a week ago, right after the announcement that Nintendo stops making the NES Classic. Now prices came down quite a bit amidst the new NES Classic Edition stock.

The $59.99 Nintendo NES Classic Edition console launched on November 11 in stores and online. The supply was extremely constraint in stores and especially online. On April 13, Nintendo announced to stop production of the NES Classic Edition. Nintendo said that the last shipments of the NES Classic arrive through April. We keep spotting though the $59.99 NES Classic Edition in May.

The palm-sized NES console, retailing for $59.99 list price, features the classic Nintendo NES controller many geeks have grown up with. The retro console comes pre-installed with 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Metroid, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby's Adventures. The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985.

The ability to mod the NES Classic and install an unlimited number of games has renewed the hype around the retro console. The latest hack enables the NES Classic to store 2,500 games.
