The abandonment of Apple Watch by some big names in applications is taking place currently. However, Google said that it is expecting to support Apple Watch again in the future.

In recent times, Google Maps on iOS stopped supporting Apple Watch. Amazon and eBay have followed suit. All the apps allowed for useful actions on the Apple Watch.

Other examples of Apple Watch apps being removed from the platform include those of Target. Many of the absent apps were hardly given a second glance by the users thereby showing that they weren’t being used much in the first place.

The actions of several major companies of removing their apps from Apple Watch shows that they were once supporters of the device. Today the situation is such that none of these companies offers Apple Watch support or apps.

Whether this removal is on a permanent basis remains to be seen. The fact that even Target removed its app shows that there was something seriously wrong with the Apple Watch in the first place.

Some have said that they expect the supporting apps to return to the platform in the future. This is a moot point. There may be some truth to it, but it might also be nothing but a rumor.

There are many who noticed that the apps just disappeared from the Apple Watch and they were a bit concerned. The others just went about their business like nothing had happened.

This shows a difference in levels of sensitivity to the surroundings among the consumers. Whether this is a sign that the Apple Watch is in trouble or needs to evolve remains pretty much a matter of perspective.

The removal of the apps has raised more questions that need to be answered. Apple probably needs to do a re-evaluation. Yet this is just a blip on the radar for Apple which has bigger fish to fry.

After this news by AppleInsider, Google issued a statement about the situation on Twitter. Google's comment on Apple Watch says, "We removed Apple Watch support from our latest iOS release but expect to support it again in the future."
