  • Tim Cook Says iPhone 8 Rumors Cause a Pause in iPhone Purchases

Apple CEO Tim Cook is holding flying iPhone 8 rumors responsible for the retarded sales of the iPhone.

The CEO of Apple Inc. Tim Cook spoke of how a pause had occurred in the sales of the iPhones. According to MacRumors, the CEO said that this was all due to the earlier reports regarding the future iPhone.

When a question was put to him regarding an all-time low sales record of Apple iPhones that was currently extant, he said that Apple was indeed seeing slower sales. This pause in purchases is a strange phenomenon.

"We're seeing what we believe to be a pause in purchases of iPhone, which we believe is due to the earlier and much more frequent reports about future iPhones," Tim Cook said during the company's second-quarter earnings call with analysts on Tuesday. "That part is clearly going on... We are seeing that in full transparency."

The rumors regarding the iPhone 8 started pouring in even before the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus were released into the market. Apple’s secrecy didn’t seem to work any wonders in this case.

It seemed that in the world of rumors and propaganda, one bad apple had spoiled the whole bunch (no pun intended). The rumors spoke of how there were many changes that still needed to be made in the iPhone 8. This gadget is said to have undergone a major overhaul.

Also an OLED display screen along with no home button on it are in the cards. Finally, a glass body and stainless steel frame not to mention Touch ID, biometric facility and state-of-the-art camera will be available within the context of the device.

According to BusinessInsider, Apple Inc. has missed a few of the expectations carried by Wall Street insiders. The fact that Apple likes to keep mum has not aided it this time around.

The rumor mill was in active mode and it did the damage which it was meant to do in the end. Apple may introduce three new iPhones in the market this year.

They include in their repertoire a more expensive device that could cost upto $1000. There have even been rumors to the effect that Apple will add augmented reality into its next iPhone.

The camera of the iPhone will also have a special app developed for it by developers. According to The Australian, the iPhone 8 rumors have seriously hurt Apple’s reputation. The problem lies with the consumers who are delaying the upgrades to their iPhones thanks to the rumors that are here, there and everywhere.

“Apple enjoys a greater than 80 per cent repeat purchase intention in Australia, however its users are typically holding onto their handsets longer,” Mr. Foad Fadaghi, an analyst and Telsyte managing director told The Australian. “Telsyte believes a replacement cycle will commence later this year as software support for older models ends.”

Apple has sold 50.76 million iPhones this quarter. That is way less than last year and represents a goal that has not been met. Yet Apple is a firm that has rolled with the times. It will pick up its pace and build itself from the ground up after this minor defeat.
