Video of Xbox Project Scorpio Dev Kit Draws Excitement

Microsoft's upcoming beefy Xbox Project Scorpio makes another appearance in dev kit outfit.

The Xbox Project Scorpio console is going to be one of the highlights of the Holidays 2017. Microsoft has already let out a lot of details of the most powerful console hitting the market in 2017.

Now a video showing off the sleek Xbox Project Scorpio Dev Kit draws a lot of attention and excitement. The video published in a Tweet by Jez Corden has Xbox fans marvel over its OLED display showing system stats including current FPS. These boxes are for game developers and are not in any way hinting to towards the final design of the Xbox Scorpio or however it will be called.

Microsoft revealed last month the hardware specifications of the Xbox Scorpio in great detail. Microsoft has somehow the urge to be super transparent with the Scorpio project.

The Scorpio CPU has eight custom x86 cores clocked at 2.3GHz. The Scorpio GPU has 40 customized compute units clocked at 1172MHz, pumping out the promised 6-teraflop performance. The Scorpio has 12GB of GDDR5 RAM, with a memory bandwidth of 326GB/s. Microsoft includes a faster 1TB 2.5-inch hard drive, and a UHD Blu-ray drive. Like Xbox One S, it has an integrated power supply, so no external power brick. The ports are identical to Xbox One S.

The CPU is about 30 percent faster than the one in the Xbox One. The GPU is 4.6 times more powerful than the Xbox One GPU. Games have 8GB more RAM, up from 5GB of much slower memory on Xbox One.

The Xbox Scorpio might make an appearance at the E3 2017. Microsoft has not revealed any details about the final announcement, release, price and games.
