  • Tesla to Introduce its Model Y Crossover within a Three Year Time Span

According to Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, the company is to introduce its Model Y crossover within a three year time span.

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, gave the media some nitty gritty details about some his company’s vehicles which are to arrive in showrooms in the future.

The Model Y crossover, the Model 3 Sedan and the all-electric semi-truck are especially all lined up to make their entry in the near future. According to CNet, Musk lent a few hints regarding the launch periods of these means of transportation.

Especially the Model Y crossover is the fifth consumer vehicle which will be showcased by Tesla Motors. When Musk was prodded regarding how his company planned on making one million cars per annum by the time the year 2020 arrived, he just had one phrase to say in response: the Model Y crossover.

He also confirmed the fact that it would have a novel EV platform that would differentiate it from the Model 3. Among other contrast-worthy facts about the model were: greater automation in the manufacturing process, a higher speed data network in its interior setting and a lesser number of limits on the performance of the vehicle.

Musk even spoke of how the electric semi-truck would have some Model 3 parts as a part of its general makeup. According to Electrek, Musk’s prognostications point towards a delayed deadline rather than the usual schedule for the Model Y crossover.

He said that the 12 volt battery will be a thing of the past and thrown into the dustbin of history by his car manufacturing company. Also the Model 3 and Model Y assembly lines of production will be separate from each other.

While Tesla Motors hasn’t let on too much regarding these future products and their auspicious prospects, Musk did hint at Falcon Wing doors that looked like those found in the Model X line of vehicles.

According to The Verge, Elon Musk seemed to be tantalizing the public with regard to Tesla Motors’ future showpieces. The vehicles will have less wiring making them seamless and smoother not to mention more streamlined.

With the Model Y crossover, the one million cars production goal will be met by Tesla Motors, according to Musk. Musk is going to keep up his promise. Yet you never know what surprises he may keep up his sleeve as a supergenius and polymath of modern times.
