  • Teen invents Bra that can Detect Breast Cancer in its Earliest Stages

A teen has invented a special technological bra that can detect breast cancer in its earliest stages. This was after he faced the frightening prospects of almost losing his mother to the deadly disease.

Julian Rios Cantu was just 13 years old when he realized that females in his native nation of Mexico were unlikely to escape alive from the clutches of breast cancer if they contracted it. His mother almost died from this disease. So he developed a prototypical bra that does the job of examination and mastography all by itself.

There are biosensors imbedded in this bra. All the data from these sensors is collected and processed by computers thereby leading to a diagnosis of whether the bra-wearing female has breast cancer or not.

For those females having tumors in their breasts, there is greater blood flow and heat not to mention changes in temperature and texture over the passage of time.

The software of the bra is suitable for noting down the critical and crucial factors that make for a proper diagnosis. If it can be said with surety that the female has breast cancer, it is recommended that she visit a doctor as soon as possible.

The future lies open since there will be a slew of technological products and methods to detect breast cancer as well as fight it. Meanwhile, for those women who do not have access to this latest invention, they are advised to engage in self-examination of their mammary glands from time to time. Periodic medical tests are a necessity too.

According to El Universal, Julian’s mother Graciela first contracted breast cancer at the age of 45. It was conquered easily by the proper treatment. Yet the second time a relapse took place, it was a tough and difficult job getting rid of the tumor which simply refused to go away.

Her son, Julian at the age of 17 founded a company named Higia Technologies along with three other friends. The bra made by this company is called Eva and it is an auto-exploration bra.

According to HuffingtonPost, the question arises why a bra and not something else instead?

Well, it is the only thing that can get close to the organs in which the tumor is resident and you can easily wear this special bra for one hour a week if you want to detect any tumors in the mammary glands. It is still in its prototypical stages and two years remain before it will be sold in the market.

According to BBC, the fact that the novel bra could detect breast cancer is a wonderful thing in itself. The design of this bra was unique and it won the top prize at the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.

As to the question regarding whether this tech bra will work without any hitches or glitches, the answer to that still lies in the future.
