Why Teachers Hate Fidget Spinners?

Fidget spinners are becoming more and more common throughout not just the US and UK but also around the world. According to USAToday, this simple toy is held in the middle and one of its trio of prongs is touched to make it spin for hours upon hours.

Yet there is a slight hitch which has come up. Teachers and educators throughout the global village are beginning to think of this device as a pet peeve. The fidget spinners in the city of Chicago are being banned from schools.

Many educators say that while they may be of some use to those with ADHD, anxiety or autism, they also cause far more disruptions in classroom discipline. These seemingly harmless toys have been said to divide attention and cause more harm than good.

According to HuffingtonPost, teachers have truly had it with fidget spinners. When kids engage themselves with these cute little toys in the classroom, they cannot keep still. While these toys may be a boon for some of the students with learning disabilities, they are exasperating for the teachers who find them a nuisance at best and downright frustrating in the worst cases.

Supposed to provide an outlet for pent-up nervous energy, the fidget spinner has become a global craze by now. Yet it is precisely at such a time that the backlash against them is also picking up speed. This is especially so among the teachers who find this toy having the opposite effect of what it was made for in the first place.

Some have even said that while these toys are small, they spin so fast that they could hurt someone with their sheer speed. According to NYDailyNews, these nifty little devices are literally spinning out of control.

One of the teachers has said that a student nearly walked in front of his car while operating this gizmo. It would have resulted in a serious accident had the teacher not acted prudently and applied the brakes to his vehicle in the nick of time. While these fidget spinners make for cool toys, they are definitely not in the good books of teachers and lecturers.

Sometimes, the devices are misused as well. According to ChicagoTribune, they are a classroom distraction par excellence. Fidget spinners have become an overnight sensation.

They are just everywhere. The kids at schools are fidget spinning instead of reading, writing and doing arithmetic. This makes fidget spinners a dangerous supplement to education.

They are trouble, say many teachers who have been at the receiving end of the nonsensical nuisance they cause in classrooms around the world.

According to The Sun, many parents of children are finally receiving the instructions from school authorities that their kids are not to bring fidget spinners to the school. Enough is enough and the educational institutions are here to teach students regarding the world and its wisdom. They are not meant to be frivolous playgrounds where anything goes.

Fidget spinners continue to dominate the best seller lists on Amazon. The top 100 most popular toys are almost all variations of fidget spinners. Our current favorite fidget spinner is the Captain America inspired shield spinner.
