  • Toyota Land Cruiser Becomes World's Fastest SUV by Hitting 230 MPH Record Top Speed

A Toyota Land Cruiser happens to also be the fastest SUV in the global village of today. It can reach speeds of 230 mph on the open road.

Toyota Land Cruiser is a flawless vehicle. In fact, it seems to float at 230 mph. This Land Cruiser easily claims the title of the fastest SUV on the planet, according to TopGear. It even stole the show from Brabus which peters out at just 211 mph.

To make a Land Cruiser extra-potent and make it go faster than the fastest was a worthy goal. The car-makers decided to do just that. Toyota Motors made the Land Cruiser zip by the observers on the highway.

This Land Cruiser weighs approximately 2.6 tonnes. After the team of technical engineers fiddled with its engine, they managed to make it reach a 2000 bhp level. The novel turbines in this car made it something which was souped-up indeed.

A three-speed gearbox has been placed in this vehicle too. The interior is trim and cool. As for the back seats, they have been jettisoned. When you start the ignition, the V8 engine roars to life. All eight cylinders drive this baby to burn rubber on the tarmac.

You have to be careful with the speed since you don’t want a police car following you. It’s a state of relaxation in the driver’s seat where it is soft, comfortable and snug.

Every move this car makes is super-smooth and it has the focus of a big cat on the African savannah. Initially, the team behind this SUV wanted to break a world record with it.

However, they decided to let that one go after some cogitation yet still managed to make it into the record books. According to CNet, Toyota has built up quite a reputation for itself via this vehicle.

For those who want this vehicle at all costs, the answer is a flat “No”. Toyota is not selling this vehicle. Yet if you are desperate enough for it, then besides shelling out $83,000 for an ordinary Land Cruiser, you will have to spend an extra $100,000 for the tweaks and fine-tuning needed to convert the baby into the real deal.

According to Digitaltrends recently, the NASCAR driver Carl Edward sat behind the wheel of this speed demon and raced it on the road like there was no tomorrow. He said in passing that at 230 mph, it tended to float a little in the air.
