Overkill Delays Walking Dead Release to 2018

Overkill and Starbreeze announce that their Walking Dead game would be delayed yet again.

Walking Dead is one of the TV sensations that have gripped all the fans around the world. With six seasons in, the show is already based on comics of the same name, spurred a whole off-spin show and with creator Robert Kirkman’s blessing; Overkill is set to launch a game from the show’s content. It seems to be in the works for over three years now.

While Kirkman said that he has always believed that the show will look amazing in an interactive co-op kind of way, that seems to be the hindrance for the game.

Overkill has been emphasizing on a new co-op experience and that is why there seems to be delays in the game’s launch. The game designer have announced that the game will be delayed yet again to 2018.

Starbreeze and Kirkman's Skybound Interactive company have noted that the game is still in development. Starbreeze CEO Bo Andersson Klint said that the game will be interactive and fierce for the gamers. He also called the Walking Dead game as the biggest project in company’s history.

The game will explore into a new yet familiar world of the Walking Dead. Overkill stated that they wanted to enhance the base material and provide a whole experience for the gamers.

Furthermore, they also said that they wanted to develop an Asian version of the game that they could release at the same time as the western version.

The game has already been delayed twice. The game was first announced to launch in 2016. It was then delayed for release in 2017. It has been delayed to 2018. We will have to wait and see if it will release in 2018.
