New Nintendo Switch Game Releases
Minecraft for Switch

This week two new Switch games will go on sale.

Nintendo's Switch is getting a lot of praise despite the low number of games available for the new console. The game line-up is slowly growing. This week Switch owners can pick two new games. First up is the $19.99 NBA Playgrounds. The basketball game will be released today on May 9.

The more popular Switch game release is the $29.99 Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition. The first Minecraft game for the Switch is a digital release only at this point. Release date for Minecraft on the Switch is May 11. This new edition of the Minecraft game comes with the Super Mario Mash-Up pack, along with other features familiar to Console Edition crafters.

The big difference is how the game works with the various viewing and playing options the Switch offers, with its lovely palm-sized Joy-Cons and choice of TV or portable screens. Up to 8 players can get together online, while 4 can join each other in local multiplayer on the TV or in tabletop mode, supporting both split-screen and the Pro Controller.

Looking ahead to next week, the Nintendo eShop will offer the award winning rhythm game Thumper on May 18. Nintendo might soon reveal one of the unannounced Nintendo Switch games for 2017. The next Nintendo Direct might bring Pokemon Stars for the Nintendo Switch.

The big upcoming Switch games are Arms on June 16 and Splatoon 2 on July 21. Amazon offers pre-order discounts on both of the titles for Prime members to the tune of 20%.

On June 13, Cars 3: Driven to Win will be released for the Nintendo Switch. It's one of the first or the first multi-platform game release that also includes the Switch as option.

The Switch is sold out online. The Switch is also hard to find in stores. For the current Nintendo Switch stock availability read our daily market report.

There has been online stock available briefly end of last week. With the new The Tracker app consumers can get notified when the Switch is in stock online at major retailer.

The Nintendo Switch launched on March 3 and Nintendo sold over 2.74 million units so far. The Japanese video game maker plans to make 10 million units available in the coming 12 months.
