The Amazon Free Shipping Limit is back where it has been for the longest time.

Free shipping on Amazon is relative. Prime members including me have no sense anymore for shipping cost. Almost everything ships with free 2-Day shipping because of the $99 annual membership. For those customers who are not Prime members there is a purchase minimum. It has been $35 and now Amazon lowered it to $25.

The $25 minimum was in place for years before the retailer started to increase the requirement in a move to push people towards a Prime membership. Amazon quietly lowered the minimum in the shipping details. It is not clear how long it will stay at $25. Amazon is weighing the benefits of raising and lowering in regards to competition and hurting Prime sign-ups.

As said I don't think about shipping cost anymore. Yesterday I ordered a $4.50 room antenna because my son needs one in his room. I click one button and I am done. I don't need to look around what else I need to reach the free shipping limit, which I definitely would have done on a $4.50 purchase.

Amazon Prime members not only have the luxury to no think about shipping costs and purchase limits, but also access to the Amazon Prime Day 2017 deals. Amazon Prime Day 2017 is expected to take place on July 11. This 1-Day sales events rivals Amazon's Black Friday sales event.

The lowering of the free shipping limit has no real impact on Prime Day, as shoppers need to be a member of Prime to get access to the deals.
