Apple Unveils 3-year Smart Keyboard Repair Policy

Smart Keyboard not working? Apple Will fix it for three years.

If you own an Apple Smart Keyboard, the company has determined that some of those keyboards might have what are termed "functional issues" during use. These issues including problems such as a non-functional Smart Connector and keys sticking, keys repeating, or keys that don't respond.

To address the issues with the Smart keyboard Apple has devised a new 3-year repair policy that will ensure you get at least a trio of years use out of the keyboard. The policy covers the Smart keyboard for the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablets reports MacRumors.

Word of the program came via an internal memo that was sent out to Apple store and authorized service centers last week. If you have a Smart Keyboard that isn't functioning you can call your local store to schedule an appointment or visit an authorized service center to start the repair process.

Apple support can also be contacted via other means including chat, phone, or email. With a policy that is so new, there may still be some Apple employees who are unfamiliar with the new policy and may require an escalation of repair requests to an AppleCare advisor according to MacRumors. It's great to see Apple be proactive about offering repairs on items it sees as potentially faulty.
