NES Classic Stock Pops Up at Best Buy Stores

Surprise! The Nintendo NES Classic Edition gets still restocked at Best Buy stores.

Electronics supply chains out of Asia are a mysterious thing. The discontinued NES Classic Edition is still surfacing at retailers. This thing just won't die. Officially the NES Classic Edition is history, according to a Nintendo statement, but retailers are still getting new inventory.

We have seen Walmart stores and Target stores and even a few GameStop stores receiving new NES Classic shipments this week. But now Best Buy store are also restocking the NES Classic out of nowhere.

A Best Buy employee posted on reddit that he unloaded a shipment of 5 NES Classic Edition on Tuesday. The Best Buy is located in Missouri. Another post in this reddit thread talks about another NES Classic score at a Best Buy store.

There are no inventory tracker for Best Buy. The only way to find out if your local store has a NES Classic is to visit a store. Check in with customer service. Best Buy stores tend to have a policy to keep high demand items at the Customer service desk.

Reseller prices for the NES Classic have dropped despite the end of the NES. The lowest priced Nintendo NES Classic console sells for $238 plus shipping on amazon.com.

The reseller prices have been over $300 early April, right after the announcement that Nintendo stops making the NES Classic. Find all NES Classic offers and auctions on ebay.com as well as all marketplace offers on amazon.com. NES Classic Edition are cheaper on ebay.com at the moment.

The $59.99 Nintendo NES Classic Edition console launched on November 11 in stores and online. The supply was extremely constraint in stores and especially online. On April 13, Nintendo announced to stop production of the NES Classic Edition. Nintendo said that the last shipments of the NES Classic arrive through April. We keep spotting though the $59.99 NES Classic Edition in May.

The palm-sized NES console, retailing for $59.99 list price, features the classic Nintendo NES controller many geeks have grown up with. The retro console comes pre-installed with 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Metroid, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby's Adventures. The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985.

The ability to mod the NES Classic and install an unlimited number of games has renewed the hype around the retro console. The latest hack enables the NES Classic to store 2,500 games.
