New iPad Pro 2 Leak Points to June WWDC Launch

New tablet is said to have a design similar to the iPhone 8

Rumors have been swirling for awhile now that Apple was working on the launch of a new iPad Pro tablet. Fans of the iPad were saddened when updated tables landed at Apple recently and now new iPad Pro was among them. A new rumor is making the rounds that suggests that Apple will be launching an new iPad Pro tablet in June at its annual WWDC reports BGR.

According to the latest rumor the next iPad Pro will have a substantial redesign. The coolest of these rumors is that the new Pro will have a refreshed design that is said to be a preview of what the iPhone 8 will look like. That redesign is tipped to be about the same size as the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro, but cram in a larger 10.5-inch screen.

A larger screen in the same size package will mean a tablet that is smaller and easier to hold. It also means that the new iPad Pro will have much smaller screen bezels than we have right now. The screen would need to extend almost all the way to the edges of the tablet to fit. Other rumors suggest that Apple will eliminate the home button on the tablet and that the Touch ID scanner will be embedded in the screen of the tablet.

This is the same design that Apple has been rumored to be working on for the iPhone 8. These same rumors have claimed repeatedly that Apple is having a difficult time getting the fingerprint scanner to work under the glass. In fact, the fingerprint scanner issues have been tipped to be part of the reason why the launch of the iPhone 8 will be delayed. All those rumors make me think it's unlikely that the iPad Pro will have a fingerprint scanner under glass.

Supporting the rumor a new iPad Pro at WWDC next month is a leaked screenshot that recently turned up showing new cases for a 10.5-inch iPad landing in June. Older iPad Pro 2 rumors have suggested that the tablet will be used to show off iOS 11 which is rumroed for a WWDC launch. The processor is tipped as a A10X unit along with 3D touch support and up to 512GB of storage.
