Leaked Image Claims to be the iPhone SE 2

Four new iPhone models might be in the works

If you were among the masses hoping that Apple would launch a redesigned iPhone SE 2 earlier this year and were then disappointed that the "refreshed" iPhone SE's only change was more storage, you might like this rumor. An image has leaked online that shows a device looking very much like the current iPhone 7. The images are claimed to be of the new and substantially refreshed iPhone SE 2 due to land later this year.

The image seen here is the leaked shot that Forbes reports originated with /leaks. The images are supposedly pre-production photos of the new iPhone SE. Word is that the new phone could be called the iPhone SE 2 or iPhone SE Series 2. The images show a single rear camera with what appears to be a flash.

As with any leak, there is no way to verify that the images are accurate. The leak does come at a time when it would seem to align with Ming Chi-Kuo, analyst at KGI Securities, who said that the iPhone SE refresh wouldn't come until the second half of 2017. If there is a new iPhone SE coming that would mean as many as four new iPhone models coming this year. Rumors suggest an iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus, and iPhone 8.

The iPhone SE has proven very popular for Apple with folks buying the device in droves. The phone is especially popular in developing nations like India.
