Star Trek: Bridge Crew Gets IBM's Watson Powered Voice Commands
  • IBM adds Watson-powered Voice Commands to Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Apparently, the Star Trek: Bridge Crew game has put the real in the science of virtual reality.

Ubisoft's Star Trek: Bridge Crew is such a video game that puts you and your pals in charge of an intergalactic spaceship. Each and every decision you make along the way that is the journey will decide the fate of the crew along with the commanding officers. This game bears an uncanny resemblance to the much more primitive board game known as Civilization.

This game is built for VR in its repertoire. It offers a larger-than-life immersion in the experience of space travel that leaves the game player absolutely dazed and amused.

The vehicle is termed the U.S.S. Aegis. You will have to lead it through an unknown stretch of space. There is the Klingon Empire extant along the way which is a threat to the Federation.

According to Engadget, the level of interactivity possible with this game is simply mindboggling. The game-maker company has partnered with IBM to affix a Watson speech capacity in the game. You can give decisive commands to the crew in any tone of voice you like to.

This game was supposed to be introduced in the market last year but such was not to be due to several hitches that arose. Therefore, a delay took place. Yet now it is finally ready to be launched. May 30th is the date set for the unveiling of this interactive game.

The senior creative director of Ubisoft, the maker of this game, said that the company had been in search of the right way to allow speech abilities on the game platform. As fof the immersive and interactive capabilities, they are the best.

According to The Verge, the whole game is based upon effective communication. No one can just mutter a few orders and take the spaceship to the next star or galaxy.

It requires the true skills of an efficient administrator to actually be able to command the ship and guide it through the conundrums faced in outer space.

Besides IBM’s Speech Sandbox, the game platform also allows for the handling of imaginary weapons systems for fighting wars with hostile aliens.

The game is a classic return to the program which used to air on television so long ago when we were just kids. It will yield a procession of memories as the gamers play it with zest and gusto in endless permutations.
