Rumors have it that the iPhone 8 will feature a 3D Face Recognition Camera

iPhone 8’s camera may get a three dimensional makeover. Apple is working in synch with LG Innotek to manufacture electronic parts that will supply the world’s first 3D facial recognition camera for the iPhone 8, according to Korea Economic Daily via The Investor.

This facility would lend the camera the ability to sense depth. Thus all that you would need to unlock the iPhone would be your face.

The facial recognition system on the Samsung Galaxy S8 is not foolproof. You can bamboozle its electronic circuitry by using a photograph instead of a face. The iPhone 8 was going to get this technology once Apple bought RealFace. As for LG Innotek, it is not supplying products to Apple for the first time.

According to CNet, LG supposedly invested $238.5 million in a novel facility to make camera modules for Apple. This is due to the fact that the 3D cameras will be smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus cameras.

According to Mac Observer, Apple’s starting order from Innotek is for about $177 million. The iPhone 8 3D camera was supposed to have iris scanning technology on board.

Yet now reports say that infrared sensors will be used to make way for 3D facial maps. Avatars and 3D selfies will be possible too thanks to this piece of sophisticated technology.

This feature has already captured the interest of and garnered curiosity from the avid consumer base. The iPhone 8 will have an OLED display screen.

Also a Home Button and Touch ID Sensors will figure among some of the cool features of this iPhone. When September of this year comes along, the iPhone 8 will be unveiled and it may surprise many a consumer with some of the stuff it carries in its slim case.

According to BGR, the 3D facial recognition system is one of the hottest of the iPhone 8 features. Mere mention of this facility has made it to the front page of many a newspaper.

The iPhone 8 will be radically redesigned for futuristic times. Where Samsung which used 2D technology failed, Apple is going to show the world what success looks and feels like.

Especially with the acquisition of RealFace, Apple will be using a platform which has claimed that its facial recognition technology has a 99.67% accuracy rate.
