Apple’s New Speaker Powered by Siri Might Not Feature a Touch Screen

Amazon’s announcement of Amazon Echo stole all the spotlights inside the home digital assistant arena, which may be a problem for Apple as the company is around the corner from introducing its own Siri-powered Speaker. It has been reported by Bloomberg that Apple’s employees use the speakers to at their homes, this is a part of testing phase of the final product.

Amazon’s Echo Show has featured a display touchscreen, which is the first time in this particular product’s history. Phil Schiller from Apple agreed that a touchscreen featuring on such digital assistant modules is a good idea.

This made the media conclude that a touchscreen will be featured in Apple’s Speakers. Bloomberg however, has bluntly denied any such possibility. Bloomberg’s staff asked Dave Limp from Amazon about why Echo Show failed to support Apple Music as one of the default along with Prime Music and Spotify.

Dave replied which could be concluded as Apple being not interested in allowing Google to create this integration between Echo Show and Apple Music. Apple is within rights too, plus, Apple is saddling up to compete in a market which has Amazon as the leader, it would seem logical to not collaborate with Amazon when the collaboration will actually drive potential consumers away from Apple.
