Nintendo Switch becomes the top selling video game system in April too with more than 280,000 units sold after record breaking opening in March. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game was the top-selling video game in April with more than 460,000 physical units sold.

Nintendo come out on top for yet another month. The gaming giant launched the Nintendo Switch console just last month in April. Despite the issues with the launch and shaky estimates, Nintendo exceeded expectations.

Nintendo sold record video game hardware in April with more than 68,000 units sold. As recorded by the NDS Group, Nintendo continued the top selling streak. In May, Nintendo sold about 28,000 units. That might be significantly lower than April but Nintendo beat out the rest of the competition in sales.

It is not just the gaming hardware that Nintendo seems to be dominating. The gaming giant has already sold a substantial number of game copies and hardware equipment as well. Their best seller for this release season is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game.

It sold 460,000 physical units. With the digital sales included, the total adds up to more than 550,000 units. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also became the third highest sold video game in April.

Experts reported that the Breath of Wild became so popular that there were less gaming consoles available to play the game on than the copies of the game bought. Nintendo’s newest hand-held system, Nintendo 2DS XL, is also set to release on July 28th.

Nintendo is still set to do much better over the summers. It plans on releasing two new DLC packs over the holidays. They are also releasing a great collection of games for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo DLC.

The collection will include games like; Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia on May 19 for Nintendo 3DS, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers from Capcom on May 26 for Nintendo Switch, ARMS on June 16 for Nintendo Switch, Ever Oasis on June 23 for Nintendo 3DS, and Splatoon 2 on July 21 for Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo 3DS games Hey! Pikmin and Miitopia are set to release on July 28.
