The FIFA U-20 World Cup 2017 takes place in South Korea.

Consumers will hear a lot about the Samsung QLED TVs this year. Samsung goes after the OLED competition with the new QLED technology. QLED screen technology stands for quantum light emitting diode, these Samsung displays produce more beautiful and bright colors and offer longer life, than prevous LCD based displays.

Samsung is a sponsor of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2017 that kicked off on the weekend. The U-20 soccer world cup is taking place in South Korea, home turf of Samsung.

There will be plenty more sponsorships and advertisements coming later this year to make consumers aware of Samsung's QLED. Samsung has unveiled QLED at the CES 2017 in January. QLED TVs use a new metal Quantum dot material allowing for enhanced color performance, very deep blacks, and rich details in all viewing environments. 2017 QLED TV line has received verification from the Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE) for the ability to produce 100% color volume.

The 2017 Samsung QLED 4K HDR Smart TVs are on sale at amazon.com starting at $2,497.99. Available QLED TV models range from 55-inch to 75-inch. Consumer can choose between curved and flat models. The gigantic 75-inch Samsung QN75Q9 QLED TV has a price-tag of almost $10k.
