Instagram Allows to Search Stories Using Location and Hashtag
  • Instagram Introduces Two New Exciting Story Viewing Formats
  • Location and Hashtag Stories Now Available on Explore

Instagram now brings its user the options to view stories according to location and hashtag in their Explore menu.

Instagram had a hit on their hands as soon as they started their story option for the users. Although many critics had their reservation about the feature. They thought that the story feature was already made popular by Snapchat. So, it was a possibility that Instagram stories would not be a success.

However, Instagram users started to make full use of the story feature. Instagram kept adding more and more features to the story option. In their latest update, the app is bringing another major addition to the feature.

According to its official blog, Instagram will be making stories available for viewing to users based on the location and hashtags if any had been used in the stories.

That means that any story which has been tagged with a location or hashtag, they become a part of a collection which is available for viewing.

So, if you are viewing a location or a trending hashtag you are interested in, you will not only find pictures about it in the Explore section but also stories. The Stories section will become an active feature on the Instagram after the Stories explore feature.

The Story roundup will contain any and all stories from people around you. The stories posted in the previous twenty-four hours will be featured on the stories roundup.

So if you have posted a picture or a video with a time tag or a hashtag, your story is likely to show up in the Stories Explore feature as well. Similarly, you will be able to find people who are in your nearest vicinity and share the same interests as you.

Meanwhile, some people are questioning the privacy issues that the feature might create. In sharing different stories, would the app be oversharing stories of people who don’t want to share them?
