Surface Pro hits Pre-order from $799

Surface Pro goes all the way up to $2,699 for a top of the line version

If you are in the market for a new and very portable tablet/notebook, the Microsoft Surface Pro is now up for pre-order at Best Buy. The machine is listed as shipping by 6-15-17 and in my area it says I could pick it up at the local Best Buy store on that same date or get it shipped directly to me.

The base configuration of the Surface Pro 12.3-inch tablet has an intel core M3 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB SSD. It runs Windows 10 Pro OS and the native resolution for that 12.3-inch screen is 2736 x 1824. Microsoft promises that the machine is good for up to 13.5 hours of use per charge and it uses Intel HD Graphics 615. It does not ship with any accessories at that price meaning that keyboard and pen in the image isn't included.

The Surface Pro 12.3 with a Core i5, 4GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD will sell for $999. It does have the same specs save for Intel HD Graphics 620 rather than 615. The Surface Pro 12.3" with Core i5, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage is $1,299. A version of that same tablet packing Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 is $1,599.

The Surface Pro 12.3" with Core i7, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD using those same Iris 640 graphics sells for $2,199. The top of the line Surface Pro is a $2,699 Core i7 beast packing 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM. It's hard to swallow these prices considering none of the accessories are included, you'll be dropping another $160 for the Surface Pro Signature Type Cover and buying the Pen to boot.
