The Nintendo Switch online sale at walmart.com on Friday at 5pm ET is a farce.

The Walmart online shop has restocked the Nintendo Switch on Fridays for eight weeks in a row. The Walmart's Nintendo Switch flash sale started usually at 5pm ET. There is no reason to believe that Walmart will not again sell the Switch today, but there is a big problem with this sale.

We managed to place an order for a Nintendo Switch bundle at walmart.com last Friday. All looked good. The order got processed and not immediately cancelled like a week earlier. Our inventory tracking app The Tracker has sent out the in stock alert right when the buy buttons lit up at 5:01pm ET.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game from my ordered bundle shipped on Wednesday. I thought now nothing can go wrong, but it did. On Thursday I received an email from Walmart saying that the Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy-Con console is on backorder. We heard from another shopper that the same thing happened to him. If Walmart is not able to fulfill the order by June 4, they will cancel the order automatically.

Walmart appears to have no control over their inventory when it comes to the Nintendo Switch. Reports about cancelled and back ordered Switch console surfaced in past weeks as well.

The Walmart Switch sale is extremely popular. To successfully purchase a Nintendo Switch console or the bundle, shoppers only have a few minutes. To find out almost a week later that the ordered Switch is not shipping is ridiculous.

Walmart is very likely again selling the Switch today at 5pm ET despite not being able to fulfill orders from a week ago. It is not clear why the retailer is doing this.

I have now ordered the $398.99 Nintendo Switch bundle at GameStop.com. We are planning to give away this Switch console and don't want to wait any longer. The GameStop Switch bundle with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and wheels ships within 24 hours. This bundle even includes the more popular Neon Joy-Cons.

Walmart lists the Nintendo Switch as part of a bundle with a game and accessory starting at $378.76. With the Walmart app the $299 Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy Con and $299 Nintendo Switch with Neon Joy-Con can be purchased.

The Tracker app, available for iOS and Android will send out a notification when the Walmart Switch sale begins.

From the list products you select the ones (e.g.: Nintendo Switch and the Switch Walmart bundle) you like to be notified when it is in stock at an online retailer. That is it. It is set and forget. At the moment we detect a product in stock, you receive a notification on your smartphone. Now you are just a tap away from purchasing the product you want.

For extreme hard to find products, timing is everything. There is nothing faster than a smartphone notification. We continue to work tirelessly to make the Tracker by I4U News the fastest online inventory tracker.

The list of available products to find in stock online includes the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch accessories, amiibo, Hatchimals CollEGGtibles and more.

The Tracker app supports the following stores: Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, GameStop, ToysRUs, Sam's Club, NewEgg and more.

The Tracker by I4U News app is now available as free download. You can find the app in the Apple iTunes Store for iOS devices and in the Google Play Store for Android. The current inventory tracking data is also available online on the Tracker site.

This summer will bring new big Switch games without a break. Arms will be released on June 16 and Splatoon 2 on July 21. Amazon offers pre-order discounts on both of the titles for Prime members to the tune of 20%. More Nintendo Switch games are expected to be announced at the E3 2017 next month.

Nintendo is ramping up the production for the Nintendo Switch, but has not disclosed what the current production capacity per month is. The only number the company made official is the production volume over the next 12 months. The Nintendo Switch launched on March 3 and Nintendo sold over 2.74 million units as of the end of April.

10 million Switch consoles are planned to enter retail channels until end of April 2018. The demand for the Nintendo Switch will spike during the Holiday Shopping season 2017. Nintendo will set aside a large part of the Switch production during the next months for November and December. This stock piling will keep the Nintendo Switch in short supply during the next 5 months.

As Nintendo coordinated new Switch console shipment with the launch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, we expect the company to do the same for the next major Switch game launches.

There are also several new accessories coming on the market from Nintendo in the next weeks. See the full list of new Nintendo Switch accessories.
