The Grand Tour lose their stunt driver The American as he pulls out publicly on Twitter citing his reasons

The Grand Tour was a success considering that the hosts of the show; Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, had previously pulled out of the hit BBC show Top Gear.

To say that they took a lot of fans with them would not be a wrong assumption. Matt LeBlanc became the saving grace for the BBC dwindling automotive show.

On the other hand, The Grand Tour became a success so much so that it gained a second season on Hulu. The trailer for the show has already been released. The show is slated to premiere on December 8th.

Besides the seemingly great transition, it looks like someone got the short end of the stick. We are talking about the stunt driver replacement of Top Gear version The Stig, the American.

Mike Skinner who came on the show as the replacement of The Stig wore American flag themed overalls as he tested out different vehicles and theories. Skinner made his announcement on Twitter. The writing of the show was one of his reasons along with lack of character development.

He wrote in a series of tweets, “FYI I won't be joining the guys on @thegrandtour 2nd season - I wish them all the luck. My character wasn't developed as I was told.and I agree with many of you that it sucked - if you're gonna wear Evil Knievel's firesuit, you need to be Evil Flipping Knievel! Peace out.”

The American admitted that driving was the thing he enjoyed the most on the The Grand Tour show. It will also be the only thing he will miss.
