The Corporate Vice President of Xbox, Mike Ybarra tweeted the patch will be coming very soon

On November 7th the latest Xbox One X was released around the world. The new Xbox with a price tag of $499 came with a 4K Blu-Ray Player. At the time it seemed like an incredibly good deal since the price tag of standalone 4K Blu Ray player in the market are considerably higher.

However the performance of the Blu-Ray Player in Xbox One X is not spotless. It seems when playing high dynamic range images into HDR TV the Xbox shows Raised Black Levels.

Multiple Xbox One X users have complained of the issue so far. Basically the screen gets stuck to a blank black display while the sound keeps on playing in the background.

According to the complaints the Raised Black Levels appeared when playing HDR movies. The development team at Xbox have already taken notice of the issue and released a statement.

Xbox is working on and will soon release a patch to fix the problem. Xbox’s corporate Vice PresidentMike Ybarra confirmed the details of the patch via his twitter account. According to Ybarra the patch will be released in just a few days as an update and it will fix the raised black levels issue.

Although the Xbox One X is a sophisticated piece of technology it seems the bug is mainly affecting the capabilities of the Dolby Atmos in the console. There also seems to be issues when connected to the LG OLED TVs and other Atmos audio products.

The bug is believed to be caused by the way Xbox One X handles Dolby Atmos. Players have reported measures such as even de-installing and then re-installing the Blu-ray player app does not fix the issue.
