Apple Retakes the Lead in Wearable Market Thanks to Apple Watch 3

Apple is the Largest Maker of Wearables for a Second Time in a Row

Apple is once more on cloud nine as far as being the biggest manufacturer of wearables is concerned. Since the past quarter, this is the status of Apple Inc. It’s something to be proud of indeed.

Over 3.9 million watches were shipped by the high tech firm. 800,000 of them were Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE capabilities, according to a latest report by Canalys.

Xiaomi and Fitbit, which are rivals of Apple, were left behind in the wearable stakes. They shipped 3.6 million and 3.5 million wearables in the last quarter. Yet their overall functioning was not bad.

There were some LTE connectivity problems in the Apple Watch Series 3 in the nascent stages. These were removed via a software program a couple of weeks after its debut.

The Watch has really made Apple a winner on the scene. There was a time when Xiaomi was ruling the roost. Yet that is no more. Now, Apple is back on top.

One must keep in mind that Apple’s Watch is far more expensive than Xiaomi’s watch. Yet it has outsold it thereby showing the greater sophistication and caliber of Apple Inc. However, one thing which is regrettable is that the overall market for wearables has gone down a bit.
