  • FIFA 18 Fans Launching Boycott Against Microtransactions on Black Friday Event

FIFA 18 players and enthusiasts vie for a boycott of the game as they believe that EA Games should take steps towards mending the technical issues and revamping the microtransaction system

FIFA 18 was one of EA Games biggest releases this year. Despite a few glitches in the Nintendo Switch gameplay, there were no major reports of the game being substandard. All of that changed when a FIFA player initiated a petition on

According to this player, the FIFA 18 game looks like a sequel to FIFA 17. The changes in the gameplay and the advanced graphics that were shown at the demos of the game, are certainly absent as the players play the game over extended periods of time.

Moreover, there have been some technical issues as well that have been reported by the players. The FIFA 18 Weekend League has also garnered some subversive responses from the FIFA 18 community. It is a tournament that is available on the weekends.

The players have to play 40 matches to earn rewards and game points. The gameplay for 40 matches adds up to 13 hours which is an unhealthy amount of time for any game play.

The EA microtransaction system, FIFA Ultimate Team is slowly taking over the normal FIFA Gameplay. It is a game mode where the players earn coins by playing, competing in the weekend league, and buying/selling players with coins to complete your dream team.

The players must buy FIFA Points with Premium Gold Pack for either 7,500 Coins, or 150 FIFA Points. That means that anyone who does not buy these packs faces a setback in their gameplay.

The petition calls for EA Games to fix the glitches, revert the gameplay to the launch mode and fix the microtransaction system. The petition calls for FIFA 18 players to boycott the game’s Black Friday event to show their protest and persuade the developers at EA to consider their demands seriously.
