Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls Jeep Compass vehicles over airbag production issues

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has had to call back about 8,000 Jeep Compass compact crossovers in North America. According to reports, loose fasteners made their way into the passenger-side airbags.

No official reports have emerged of injuries, accidents, warranty claims or complaints resulting from the loose fasteners. FCA was advised by one of the suppliers that loose fasteners might have made their way into a small number of modules undetected.

These airbags then entered into a small number of modules. These lose fasteners pose a threat to the passenger in case of an accident. About less than 1 percent of the total number of vehicles have been called back.
