Update: Final Cyber Monday 2017 Sale numbers released.

Cyber Monday is defending itself well against the digital Black Friday. Based on Adobe Analytics data, Cyber Monday is on track to become the biggest U.S. online shopping day ever.

As of 10 am ET, $840 Million have been spent online, representing 16.9% growth YoY. Overall web traffic is up 12%, with the season average at 5.7%. Mobile set a new record representing 53.3% of visits (44.6% smartphones; 8.7% tablets) and 39.7% of revenue (29.8% smartphones; 9.9% tablets). Smartphone traffic specifically grew 21% YoY while revenue coming from smartphones saw 41% growth YoY, a new record.

The Black Friday 2017 sales volume is $5.03 billion and the Thanksgiving Day 2017 generated $2.87 billion in online sales. Adobe predicts that Cyber Monday 2017 will have more than $5 billion in online sales.

“Cyber Monday is expected to make history again as the biggest U.S. online shopping day of all time, driving a billion dollars more than last year. As consumers make their way back to work, they are poised to be hitting the buy button all day, as most big discounts will end by midnight. A lot more of this will be happening on smartphones as well, where smoother buying experiences through auto-fill capabilities are helping drive the growth we see in mobile.” – Tamara Gaffney, Strategic Insights Engagement Group Director, Adobe.
