  • Apple Planning for Metal Casing and LCD for Its 2018 iPhone Models

Apple is reportedly planning to bring back the metal casing for the 2018 iPhone models in different sizes and OLED screens

According to experts at Nikkei Asian Review, they have a pretty good idea about what the iPhone models in 2018 will look like. Apple will be releasing three different models of iPhone in 2018.

Two of them will feature the OLED screen which has been introduced in this year’s iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. The OLED screen phones will be in the iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Plus range with two different screen sizes; a 5.8-inch and a 6.3-inch respectively.

The OLED screens offer a more dynamic picture quality and resolution and OLED screens can also be foldable. With rumors of folding phones in development, Apple could be taking step ahead for the possibility.

The third iPhone which is reported to be released by Apple will feature an 6.1 inches LCD screen. This will be the more economic offering from Apple.

What will all these phones have in common? Experts are saying that Apple will be returning to the metal casing for these 2018 iPhone models. The metal casing has already been featured in the iPhone 5 through 7.

It came in multiple color choices and gave the iPhone an iconic look until Apple opted for the glass back in iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.

However, upon analysis, there have been durability issues that have arisen due to the glass back in the iPhone models in 2017. So, returning to the more stable metal casing might be a smart move by Apple.
