Walmart stores stock their three exclusive WowWee Fingerlings.

You know when a toy is the official hottest Holiday toy of the year when the New York Times runs a story about it. The making of the WowWee Fingerlings is an very interesting read. Sydney Wiseman, a member of the family who runs Canadian toy company WowWee, came up with the Fingerlings. The origin of the idea of little robotic baby monkeys lies in Ms. Wiseman's obsession with pygmy marmoset monkeys.

Parents have to thank Walmart for the low $15 price point of Fingerlings. WowWee planned to sell Fingerlings for $20, but Walmart insisted on the $15 price. Turned out Walmart got it right. $20 is too high for something that is also a collectible. Many people buy more than one Fingerling.

WowWee is very proud that Fingerlings can fart. "You know you can trust a toy company if its toys fart," Ms. Wiseman said. "It knows what kids want." Another interesting revelation from the WowWee Fingerlings background story on the NYTimes is that Fingerlings Sloth are moving and speaking 10% slower than the monkeys. That kind of detail is really neat.

Last Friday was a big Fingerlings day. Amazon has sold a wide range of Fingerlings for hours. Walmart has also stocked Fingerlings online on Friday as well. If Fingerlings will be in stock online today, on Green Monday remains to be seen.
