Today's Google Doodle Honors German Physicist Max Born

Today's Google Doodle is a Reminder of the Wonderful Mind of German Physicist Max Born. Google Celebrates Max Born's 135th Anniversary with a Doodle.

The Google Doodle that is currently available on the main page of the giant and granddaddy of search engines on the Internet shows Max Born. He was a brilliant physicist who discovered the most vital law of quantum mechanics. It would have been his 135th birthday were he still alive today.

The man was a genius who is best known for the Born Rule which bears his surname. This rule uses probability in order to predict the locus of a small particle in a quantum field. This rule is crucial for usage in quantum mechanics which is all about subatomic particles.

Today quantum mechanics is part of the landscape and mindscape of physics. We use it to fix the right time at every micromoment and even use it in encryption experiments.

Before this intelligent individual came up with his rule, physicists used unwieldy means of calculating the exact location of particles. Born discovered that all that was needed was a matrix of sorts. Also the laws of probability counted in the mix. The chances of finding a particle at any location were there.

The wave function predicted the behavior of the particle. By squaring the magnitude of the wave function, you could find the location of the particle. For this we all owe a huge debt of gratitude to Max Born.

He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1954. The legendary figure also happens to be the grandfather of singer and “Grease” actress Olivia Newton-John.
