Ataribox Sale Canceled

The Ataribox pre-order plans have been halted.

Atari has officially canceled today's planned launch of the crowd-funding campaign of the retro-console. As reported, the Ataribox was supposed to become available for pre-order on crowd-funding site Indigogo.

In an email, Atari says that a key element on the company's checklist is taking more time to create the platform and ecosystem the Atari community deserves. An updated launch plan is underway and more detailed information will be available soon.

The release of the Ataribox was initially planned for Spring 2018. Atari garnered a lot of interest for their stylish retro gaming console that will run on Linux. The Atari 2600-inspired Ataribox will run on a custom AMD CPU and will be open. Owners will be able play retro Atari games and PC games. The communicated price-range is between $250 and $300.

You can still sign-up to be placed on the Ataribox waiting list on the Ataribox Indiegogo page. The Holidays 2017 are 10 days away. Do you have all Holiday gifts?
