YouTube makes an update on iOS to support and play vertical videos

YouTube has been planning on making a change to support vertical videos. It has already accomplished it with some phone. As of today, the update available for YouTube will enable iOS phones to support and play vertical videos. Everyone will have access to vertical videos now.

Many people have been making vertical videos lately and some ad agencies and promotion companies have already reverted to vertical video while releasing new material on vertical video. Many movie trailers are also coming in vertical video mode as well.

Gone are the days when you have to turn your phone and see a video with black bars around it. The phones are meant to be held vertically and this new update will let the users view videos on their full screens.

There are some videos which have been shot in landscape mode originally, so they will still feature the black bars. However, there are some complaints regarding the quality of the video might be affected in full screen mode.

YouTube is taking the first step towards establishing vertical videos and they will hopefully work on the resolution problems in due time as well. YouTube make the announcement on their official Twitter feed.
