CES 2018 to present Sony Reveal Press Conference

Sony Interactive Entertainment usually avoids the CES 2018. Although in its early days, it dealt in the PlayStation experience, nowadays it is into other technologies which radically depart from the set standard of video games.

However, this year things are going to be different for Sony. The PlayStation VR experience will be something that Sony will be discussing in a press conference at the CES 2018.

The exact plans for the press conference are still being kept under wraps. Nobody knows a thing about them and only when the press conference does take place will the truth emerge from the rumors.

Sony is said to be including its cameras, headphones and external hard disk drives among the items of interest at the press conference. PS4 and VR will also be salient features of the event.

The press conference will be taking place on 8th January, 2018. That is a single day before the CES 2018 event ensues. Other companies involved in the VR game especially as regards its hardware such as Qualcomm will also be participating in the event.

However, Sony will probably not be revealing any novel hardware or software. Although the VR community has high hopes as regards Sony’s products, this time around they will most probably be disappointed.

The North American launch of the second PlayStation VR HMD by Sony will be something to look forward to though. Yet all this is just in the realm of rumor and hearsay for now.

Nothing is written in stone. The rumors have however led to a surge in the sales of PlayStation VR HMDs in Japan. As for the original HMD, it has been scrapped in America.

Comments have not been forthcoming from the top brass at Sony. The VR Focus which will be available for display purposes at the CES 2018 will make for an interesting item among tech enthusiasts.
