Amazon has finalized deals with Acer and Microsoft to bring Alexa to PC for customers and interact with Cortana to provide a multi-intelligent personal assistant relation

Amazon has been promoting Alexa since its inception. For all the tech-savvy, the intelligent virtual personal assistant has become a household name. Alexa has incorporated into daily lives of people. Helping them in making schedules, adding things to shopping carts, making virtual purchases, playing music, selecting audiobooks and Amazon keeps adding to her list of features.

However, on of the things that was hindering the full potential of Alexa was that she came in a specific device. You might have been introduced to a tubular, speaker with a LED rim as Alexa. That is the extent to which Alexa has been functioning yet.

Not anymore though. at CES 2018, Amazon announced that Alexa will be functional on Acer, Asus and HP systems. This is in lieu of the Alexa everywhere strategy that Amazon set out on at CES 2017.

One year later, they have achieved their goal. Acer announced that Alexa will be coming to selected Aspire, Spin, Switch and Swift notebooks, as well as Aspire all-in-one PCs models. In the coming year, Alexa will be incorporated to function on majority of PC as well as iOS and Android devices.

Incorporation of Alexa did raise questions about Cortana. The intelligent virtual personal assistant by Microsoft which was introduced in the Windows 10 update in 2016. Cortana has been known for her organizational and reminder features. It has been a useful tool in the Windows 10 arsenal.

With Alexa reaching out to PC and multiple devices, many experts believed that it will be the end of Cortana. However, Microsoft and Amazon announced that they will be bringing first-ot-its-kind collaboration between Cortana and Alexa. T

hat means that users can access Cortana via Alexa and vice versa. Giving out detail in a blog on Microsoft official website, Users will be able to access Alexa via Cortana on Windows 10 PCs, followed by Android and iOS in the future.

In return, users can access Cortana on Alexa-enabled devices like the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Show. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella pointed out that making Cortana available via Alexa is a great step. It will give users access to Cortana’s knowledge, Office 365 integration, commitments.
