Samsung The Wall MicroLED TV is Truly Modular with iPad Sized Tiles

The most stunning TV at CES 2018 consists of 9.37-inch tiles.

Samsung stuns at the CES 2018 with a 146-inch microLED TV dubbed The Wall. At the unveiling of the modular microLED TV it was not clear how modular this TV display really is. There are no noticeable lines on the display. Now Samsung released a demo video of the
"The Wall" along with the revelation that each tile of the TV is only 9.37-inch in size. This is about the size of an Apple iPad.

Each 9.37-inch module seamlessly integrates with the next without altering the display’s fine-tuned MicroLED structure. Therefore, users always get optimum picture quality and resolution no matter how big they decide to build their screen.

The modular, self-emitting MicroLED 146-inch TV display can transform into any size, and delivers impressive brightness, color gamut, color volume and black levels.

MicroLED technology delivers high definition, without restrictions on size, resolution or form. It is a self-emitting TV with micrometer (µm) scale LEDs – which are much smaller than current LEDs, and serve as their own source of light.

The MicroLED technology featured in "The Wall" eliminates the need for color filters or backlight, yet allows the screen to offer consumers the ultimate viewing experience. Also, the MicroLED screen excels in durability and effectiveness, including luminous efficiency, the light source lifetime and power consumption, setting the standard for future screen technology.

Featuring a module-based, bezel-less design, The Wall also exemplifies how consumers can customize their television sizes and shapes to suit their needs. The screen can adapt to serve different purposes, such as creating a wall-size display for multiple spaces.

Now the question is how Samsung is selling the modular microLED TV. What will be the price of a single tile? Samsung has not yet revealed a release date of the modular TV. It does though look more solid than just a flashy concept. Watch the video below demonstrating "The Wall" with its different modes.
