NAIAS 2018: Toyota and Lexus Brings Apple CarPlay in Select 2019 Models

Toyota and Lexus will have Select Cars offering Apple CarPlay in the United States

The 2019 Avalon is Toyota’s first vehicle with Apple CarPlay facility in it. This is about to be replicated across many other vehicles by this automaker as well as others. Both Toyota and Lexus plan to offer this amenity in their latest and greatest vehicles.

These will be in synch with Entune 3.0 and Entune 2.0 multimedia systems. The Toyota and Lexus vehicles with CarPlay will initially be sold in the United States, according to AppleInsider. Toyota hasn’t made any final decisions just yet though.

Toyota Motors is the world’s largest automaker. It has branches spread throughout the major cities of the global village. As a prominent brand, Toyota was very late in introducing CarPlay in its vehicles. It was beaten in the race by other rivals such as Ford, GM, Fiat, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Honda, Hyundai, Kia and VW.

CarPlay has Amazon Alexa compatibility on it. The relation between Toyota and CarPlay is an intriguing one. CarPlay will be followed by such facilities as Wifi Hotspot capability and Qi wireless charging.

Toyota’s Remote Connect comes with Smartwatch and all 2019 Avalon models will carry these amenities. It goes without saying that all these steps will revolutionize Toyota Motors. Many drivers of Toyota’s cars really wanted CarPlay features in their vehicles.

This wish is now being fulfilled on a real time basis. It was bound to happen since the old must give way to the new. This is the law of life and it has always been so since times immemorial.
