The Amazon Prime Day 2018 will kick-off on Monday, July 16, 2018, at 3 pm ET. Amazon made the announcement of Prime Day 2018 on July 3 and started to offer the first Prime Day 2018 deals. Amazon extended Prime Day to a 36-hour deals marathon, beginning at 3 pm ET on July 16.

July 15: Amazon's competition is going head-to-head with Prime Day. Target announced a special one-day sale taking place on July 17, Amazon Prime Day 2018. Adobe estimates huge gains in online sales for Target, Walmart, and other online retailers, thanks to Amazon's Prime Day.

July 14: Amazon unleashed new Prime Day 2018 deals for day 2 of the Prime Day countdown sale.

July 13: Amazon released new Prime Day Countdown deals for day 3.

July 12: Amazon released new Prime Day Countdown deals for day 4.

July 12: The first Amazon Prime Day 2018 TV deals are official. Amazon announced Prime Day 2018 TV deals as part of their Back To School Sale on Prime Day. In addition, Jeff Bezos's little bookstore also announced more Prime Day 2018 deals on Amazon devices.

July 12: Amazon released a list of Prime Day 2018 deals relevant for Back To School shoppers. This Prime Day 2018 deals list includes TV, Amazon devices, toys and more deals.

July 11: Amazon teases Prime Day 2018 deals in the Amazon Shopping app. You can already select which deals you want and you receive a notification when they go live. In addition, Amazon has released a new set of Prime Day 2018 countdown deals.

July 10: Amazon announces Whole Foods Prime Day 2018 deals. When you spend $10 at Whole Foods, you get $10 to spend on Amazon.com.

July 10: Amazon ups the ante and increased the number of Amazon Prime Day 2018 countdown deals. Also on offer today, are the popular dash buttons for 99 cents!

July 9: The Prime Day Countdown Deals are available on Day 7 before Amazon Prime Day 2018. Amazon is now offering a set of new deals each day leading up to Prime Day 2018, kicking off at 3pm ET on Monday, July 16.

July 5: There are now even more early Prime Day 2018 deals available on Amazon.com. The giant online retailer unleashed savings on its private label products including Amazon Basics, Rivet and others. Similar to Black Friday, Amazon is stretching Prime Day to the whole month of July with the release of early deals that will not get any better on Prime Day, July 17. We also expect that Prime Day will extend into a full Prime Day Week, stretching the sale even further than the 36 hours.

July 3: Amazon announced Prime Day 2018 on July 3. The giant retailer confirmed that Prime Day is on July 17 and the 36-hour sale will begin on Monday, July 16 at 3 pm ET. The announcement confirms what leaked last week. Amazon clearly is messing with 4th of July sales of competitors like Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and others with the timing of the announcement. Amazon even released the first Prime Day 2018 deals, ahead of Prime Day and more to come.

June 27: Amazon's and Best Buy's Toshiba Fire TV Edition Smart TVs are predicted to be hot Prime Day 2018 Smart TV deals. These new Fire TV Edition Smart TVs ship since June 22.

June 24: AmazonBasics Prime Day 2018 deals will be incredible. The success of Amazon's private label products is met with increasing criticism, but they are great for consumers.

June 21: Amazon Prime Day 2018 date leaked in the shape of a banner on Amazon UK. As anticipated by us earlier, the Prime Day 2018 is a week later than usual. The late deadline for sellers gave it away. Now there is proof through a leaked banner that the 36 hours long Prime Day 2018 will begin Monday, July 16. The actual Prime Day 2018 is on July 17.

June 18: The Amazon Prime Day 2018 announcement is expected to be released still in June. Last year Amazon announced Prime Day on June 29.

June 14: The Amazon Prime Day 2018 date has still not been confirmed. Even Amazon sellers do not know the date yet. As reported, there is substantial evidence that Prime Day 2018 is later than usual in July. Most are still anticipating that Prime Day 2018 is starting on July 9, with the official Prime Day 2018 day is Tuesday, July 10. We likely see a Prime Day Week sale.

June 8: The Amazon Prime Day 2018 landing page has been updated. The Prime Day page says now "Coming Soon." This is the final confirmation that Prime Day 2018 is on.

June 5: Prime Day 2018 could be a week later than last year as FBA Seller deadline is a week later this year. The Prime Day 2018 date could be July 16.

April 26: The first signs of Prime Day 2018 surfaced. Amazon sellers need to get ready to ship their Prime Day deals inventory to Amazon's warehouses.

The list of Prime Day 2017 deals were dominated by savings on Amazon devices, deals on TVs and discounts on toys. A highlight was the 50% discount on the Amazon Echo, driving the price down from $179.99 to $89.99.

The Prime Day 2017 TV deals started as low as $99.99 for a 32-inch TCL TV, and the cheapest smart TV sells for $119.99. Amazon also had two Prime Day deals on two mid-range TVs. There was a $599.99 55" premium brand 4K smart LED TV and the new 55" Element 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV - Amazon Fire TV Edition was on sale for $399.99, saving $150. TCL Smart TVs were discounted by 25% off.

We expect the Prime Day 2018 deals to be of a similar nature. An additional focus will be deals on Alexa enabled devices from 3rd parties. At the CES 2018, many new products have been unveiled with Amazon's voice assistant built-in.

The Prime Day 2018 will be the first significant opportunity to find deals on the 2018 TVs from brands like TCL, Sony, Samsung, and LG. Many of the new 2018 TVs will be released in Spring and early Summer. We also predict that Amazon will launch the new Toshiba Fire TV Edition Smart TVs on or around Prime Day 2018. The giant online retailer announced a wide-ranging partnership with Best Buy to sell Toshiba and Insignia brand TVs that run Amazon's Fire TV Edition smart TV platform.

The Prime Day 2018 toy deals will be especially big this year as ToysRUs is no more. Amazon has now the chance to make toy buyers Amazon customers with incredible deals on toys on Prime Day.

Whole Foods could also play a prominent role this year in the Prime Day 2018. This is the first time that Prime Day takes place with Whole Foods stores part of the Amazon imperium.

Prime Day is a huge success for Amazon. The sales day for Prime members grew by 60% last year. More new members joined Prime on July 11 than on any single day in Amazon history. Tens of millions of Prime members purchased on Prime Day 2017, more than 50 percent higher than the prior year. The Echo Dot was the best-selling product on Prime Day 2017.

Prime Day 2018 is Exclusive to Prime Members

To get access to Prime Day deals, shoppers need to have a Prime membership. Amazon offers a 30-Day free trial. You can time the sign-up to leverage the Amazon Prime Day 2018 sale. Effective May 11, 2018, the Amazon Prime membership is $119 per year. Amazon increased the rate by $20.

The member service offers a wide range of services and perks. Besides free 2-day shipping, Prime provides video and music service among other things. There are Prime membership discounts available for students. Students get a 6-month free trial on amazon.com.

Students can get an Amazon Prime membership for just $59/year. Starting June 16, 2018, existing Prime members with an annual membership will renew at a rate of $119/year. Prime Student members with a yearly membership will renew at a rate of $59/year. Monthly Prime members continue to pay $12.99 per month. Monthly Prime Student members continue to pay $6.49 per month. More than 3.5 million toys, 200,000 dresses, and 200,000 light bulbs were purchased by Amazon shoppers worldwide on Prime Day 2017.
