Skittles Super Bowl 2018 Ad Is Exclusive to One Teenager

The Skittles candy brand will release the most exclusive Super Bowl ad ever made.

Skittles is officially sitting out the Super Bowl 2018, but still has a Super Bowl campaign. The brand announced to show a Super Bowl ad to only one person. In a video, Skittles says that teenage Marcos Menendez from Canoga Park, California is the lucky one to see the ad. Skittles will live stream his reaction to the Ad during the Big Game on Sunday, Feb. 4.

Skittles published Menendez Twitter account (@MakgicMarcos), which just got launched. At this point, I'm skeptical about that Marcos Menendez does exist. The candy brand will release teasers for the exclusive to one person Super Bowl Ad over the next weeks. There will be a celebrity appearance in the Skittles commercial.

Watch the announcement of the exclusive Skittles Super Bowl 2018 ad below. The teaser is entertaining as the TV anchor and the nerdy guy on the sofa engage in a conversation. The ad is self-ironic, which ads to the suspicion that this is a fake setup. We will see how the Skittles Super Bowl stunt continues.

This much lower than in past years at three weeks ahead of the Big Game. Super Bowl advertisers are announcing their expensive commercials closer to the Big Game than in past years as consumers attention span is decreasing. Another factor is the fear of social media backlash in case the commercials hit the wrong buttons.

Most of the Super Bowl 2018 social media and marketing campaigns will kick off in the week before the Super Bowl taking place on Sunday, Feb. 4. Find all announced commercials in Super Bowl 2018 ads chart. Read the latest Super Bowl 2018 ad news. Check out also the best Super Bowl 2018 TV deals.
