Monthly Prime membership price increases.

Amazon has increased the monthly paid Prime membership fee from $10.99 to $12.99. The retailer keeps the annual Prime membership fee at $99. The price increase is pushing consumers to the annual membership plan. Paying monthly for a year would cost now $156.

Amazon continues to offer a 30-Day free trial. The Amazon Prime membership is $99 per year and offers a wide range of services and perks. Besides free 2-day shipping, Prime offers video and music service among other things. That reminds me, there is a new episode of The Grand Tour available today on Amazon Prime.

There are Prime membership discounts available for students. Students get a 6-month free trial on amazon.com.

Amazon Prime members ordered 5 billion items in 2017. This is an increase by 1 billion compared to 2016. Prime members will be able to take advantage again of the deals offered on Prime Day 2018 in July. This Prime exclusive sales day has grown 60% last year and is likely to set another sales record for Amazon this year.
